Slate Spotlight: Slate Video and Dynamic Snippets with Alexander Clark

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening. Based upon where you're calling in and dialing in from, I guess you're not calling. This is video. What are we talking about? Well, my name is Alexander Clark and I am the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Technicians and I'm delighted to have you all here today.

We have just about 2000 registrants from the slate community that are joining us today, so it's going to be a fun time as we have a Slate Spotlight event featuring slate video and dynamic snippets. So lots and lots to cover. On today's conversation. I think we should be able to keep it nicely to the hour because stick around until the end of the event today for a special premiere of a little pandemic movie that we put together so.

I some fun stuff I in that regard. I also would be remiss without mentioning that on Monday our 2021 Slate Innovation Festival begins. Starts on Monday runs through June. We have webinars and events every day featuring our wonderful slate institutions in slave preferred partners. We have more than a dozen Basecamp courses. If you are a festival pass Holder, lots and lots of other types of special events that will have.

But again, stick around to the end. We've got a special world premiere to share with you, our special audience today, so let's get right into it. And this is 1 where I think God, the feature sort of. Normally I would start maybe with just some background on what the feature is, but I think it's going to become pretty self evident as we move right into. You can use with like video, so we're going to start. This is 1 where it is. Live now in test environments.

But given the date of April 30th and that tomorrow is may one we aren't touching production environments in any sort of way right now, so you can play with some things in your test environment and then in a few days you can play with it in production if you so choose.

Just what you will do in test environments and in production environments to get started. The first thing is that this is something that you open up by what we call early access. What that means is that it's not visible until you want it to be visible. It's not enabled until you want it to be enabled, so you can really make the choice that's right for your institution with regards to timing. So the first thing that you can do is pull up the configuration keys section of sleep, so that's under this database section, just kind of your superusers can do that.

I, but what they'll need to do, and they could do this first in a test environment, and then they could go and do it in production. I if and when they so choose, but there's a little section called Early Access features. Now, if you've already done this sort of enable all features, then you'll see this already checked, but otherwise if you've enabled some things, like configurable joins, informs events, maybe you also want to go ahead and turn on Slate video. This is something that will just open up that functionality. Please bear in mind.

That it can take up to 15 minutes for those changes that you make to be reflected. So if you don't see the options immediately, don't worry, I can just take 15 minutes for those changes to take effect. So we're going to go ahead and do a sort of simple case of slave video, and then we're going to just get fancier and fancier as we move along. So we're going to start with our Alexander Hamilton record, and we're going to go and send Mr Hamilton an email so I can go and click on to this and pay no attention to snippets yet.

We will be getting to this, so if you're going in sending someone an email same sort of deal as before, you can type in subjects you can do templates. You can have links, all the stuff right? But now there's a little icon over here next to the little icon for attachments to be able to go and add sleep video to your email so you could go and have type something into here wherever the cursor is. That's where it's going to end up inserting this light video, but I'm going to go ahead and click on our little sleep video.

Icon right here so I can go ahead and click this. And here I am. I may be looking 'cause my camera is over here and I'm my other monitors over here so if I look Askew, well that could also just be my hair. So we're going to start right here and when you pull this up you'll see that you've got a nice little audio level. This can make sure that your microphone is working properly. You can also just do the little check to make sure you don't have anything in your teeth and everything is looking good. So now what I can do is I can go ahead and say, well.

Instead of just sending a drab, boring little email message, maybe I want to send something that's much more personalized to someone. So I'm going to go ahead and click this record button. So what we'll see is we'll get Alisol countdown.

Hello and greetings from Slate University. It's great to have you here today, except that would be kind of weird because this is an email. But whatever, bye.

Alright, so now I could do that, and as I type in those things you'll see that I have a few different choices of thumbnails based upon sort of towards the beginning of the video towards the middle of the video towards the end of the video so I can find something where I look very pensive or thoughtful. I could then go and click this little play button and see how I sound. Hello and greetings from State University. It's great to have you here today, so that would be kind of weird because this is an email but whatever. Bye now you could say ooh, I really like that video.

Or who I really don't. You could cancel if you really don't like it, any decide that. Oh no, you don't really want to send a video message. You could also click restart if you decide. Well, maybe I just want to do another take up this and really make sure that I'm going to get in a polished presentation so you can choose. Make sure you're getting it all set up just to your dandy satisfaction right here and then. We're going to go ahead and click insert what this will do is it drops your video ride and do the email message now? A quick little clarification about that.

Perhaps you've heard us tell you in the past that you can actually embed videos into emails? Well, that's true. You can't embed videos into emails because it's not necessarily supported by most email clients that are out there. And by embedding a video I mean like the actual video where it's playing in the message itself, but what you can do in what we're doing here is we're actually creating a thumbnail image of it. We're creating a play button, but then this becomes just a link so that it can launch right on their smartphone, right in their tablet or browser.

I and will have like so I could say greetings from Slate University on Alright Sleep video test for what I want to send on here just to point out you actually can do this in test environments. It just won't send externally to the folks side on here. But now I can see. OK, this looks pretty good now if for some reason you decide you don't like this you can just go and delete that out right here, click the icon again and you can add another slate video if you want another do over.

From this point, it doesn't matter how many times you do this now, nothing is actually being uploaded to our servers until you click the magic send button, but I'm going to go ahead and do that right now so it just uploaded it sent. This is really, really fast, even if it's a larger type video that you've done so now you'll see I can come right over to the timeline right here, and I've got a nice little slight video test right on here. Now. The fun thing about this is that I can go and pull this up and it's immediately validating greetings from State University.

It's great to have you here today, so that would be kind of weird because this is an email, but whatever, bye alright. So now we've got our message that has gone right out and it's been sent over to the person. This remains on line when they're clicking on to it. We're doing click tracking like everything else within Slate so we can register. All of the opens the clicks back into this, but you'll know that they've watched this particular video on here. And of course you could have had.

Any additional amount of branding or content that you want. It will also appear in your own institutional branding, but more on that in a moment. I answer now. We've just sent our first message, so that's great. I, but it's not just emails that we want to do this with. Let's go ahead and send an SMS message so you'll notice that you have your different options. If you've enabled Slate voice, but I want to go ahead and send a SMS message right here and so I could choose what's the number I'm going to send this from.

Great I can. I could write Hello Alexander and now I want to go and send a little slight video.

Alright, so here I am again.

Microphone Check 1212 Microphone Check 1212. I imagine your messages will actually be much more interesting than this, so if your message is really short for what you're sending, you'll see that you get just two thumbnails, but so long as I think you're more than five seconds or so, you will see at least three thumbnails from which to choose, but I'm going to go ahead and hit insert what you'll notice that we do in the context of an SMS is instead of some big ol URL that you have will go ahead and create a tiny sort of abbreviated URL.

For that, and then when you hit send, it will take them right under the video, just in case you're trying to like test something and you're not yet hitting send, it won't actually become a live URL until you click send, so that's when the video uploading takes place. And of course all that really matters is that you have the length the other parts are really entirely optional for the things that you're going to be sending out, and so I could go and pull this up. I can see what I've got, and again, same sort of deal.

It'll take me right on from that short URL check 1212 microphone, Check 1212 all right. That's great so nice and clean, nice and simple. As part of this again could do this whenever you're on. I'll person record and you're seeking to send emails or SMS, but let's go back and take a peek at what we were just doing over here in SMS. And what are these little things floating over here? Those look like we might have snippets in SMS.

Well, in exciting day for everyone who wanted that, because indeed you now do so let's go over to snippets and we're going to take a little detour into snippets land because there's a lot of new things here and then we're going to come right back over to sleep video. So what you can do is let's go over to Inbox and we'll pull up your snippets that you can do now. There are a few different options that you're going to see here. You'll see personal snippets, shared snippets, and then all snippets. If you're an administrator or in the administrator role, you'll see that all snippets option.

If you don't see that option, you can pull up user permissions.

And rather someone may need to pull this up on your behalf, but they could either grant this permission over to the role or to the permission, or to a specific user, but it's called Inbox snippets admin, so if you have that admin one, what that just means that you'll be able to do is see all of the snippets that are being created, even if they're not shared with you explicitly. So what you could do is you could go and create some ones just for yourself if it's type of snippet that you want to be using on your end.

Instead, it's been around for a bit inside Slate, but now what you can do is when I click, let's say a snippet over here, I could go and instead of it being an email snippet, I maybe want to have this be a nice SMS snippet so I could say greetings from Slate University on here. So now I'm choosing this now. What you'll notice is changed to about snippets is that instead of asking you to specify a single roll with which it might be shared, you now have the option to be able to share it with.

Any number of different types of users, any number of different roles, or any number of users that have certain custom permissions that you've created as part of that. So I'm going to go ahead and just click save for my basic reading and you'll see that I can be brought over to a permissions box where I could go and share it with particular roles that I want to be able to access. This snippet, or particular users that I want to share this particular snippet with, or again, custom permissions that you might have.

There's also the option to be able to choose just all active users, so if this is something you're going to be using in an institution wide way, you can go and choose that and then share it out much more universally. So now I have my little basic reading over here, and let's go back to our Alexander Hamilton test record that we have and I'm going to Click to send an SMS. You'll see, I now have access to this great. I can use those pre fillings not just for emails now but.

Also, for SMS text messages.

But now let's do something a little bit fancier. With these. I would like to introduce you to what we call dynamic snippets, so that sort of basic reading that we had that said, greetings from Slate University. That's awesome, except for the fact that maybe everyone has like a different name, and I don't want to have to look up what their name is and then insert it into here. So what I can do is I can go and click export and then I could go and find a particular merge field that I want.

So maybe I want to include something like their preferred me so I can go and add this as an export to this and now what? You'll notice that I could do is instead of, let's say, just greetings. Maybe I want to include a merge field right here. What you'll also notice is now throughout Slate in these areas like SMS is because they now have support for these merge fields. Let's say when you're setting up a deliver mailing, we can now auto suggest them right in here so that you just have a much simpler cleaner experience.

So I could write breeding so and so from Slate University. So let's go ahead and click save on this. And now I'm going to go back to R Alexander Hamilton record and I will say basic reading over here now and you'll see that it's dropping in the appropriate merge field based upon to whomever I am sending this message. So now it'll say greetings Alexander from Slate University. But because we're using configurable joins I in here.

Ann, it's off of the configurable joins person based on here you can do some really powerful things with this. It doesn't just have to be something directly related to the person, so let's try spicing it up a bit and maybe I wanted to do something off the current users name so that I could say certifies sincerely, so and so right? All right, so I want to include that now as a nice little merge field that we're going to put on here. So we're saying a couple of different things.

Now it has nothing to do with the person. It has everything to do with the currently logged in user. So now I come right back over to here and it can fill in the appropriate details. So now you could set up your various types of signatures for all of these snippets in an office wide way where it's aware of who is actually sending this particular message, but also things where it can have awareness into all of the other types of data points within site. So let's go ahead and do something now.

I for emails because it's not just SMS is where this is going to be applied. I could say my email or my dynamic email Smith.

Put that in here, so then I could go and do something very, very similar for this so I could pull it. Maybe the person's preferred name and I could say hello so and so and I could go and drop it right into here again. You can type out the liquid markup if you so choose.

So I can go and save this put in whatever information that I want, but of course because it's email you could also do any amount of additional formatting here too. So if you want it to be nice and big as I go and click this up here, I could then go and find my dynamic snippet and wallah it's inserting it right into here. You could also get a lot fancier with things where maybe the data doesn't have to do with the current user and doesn't have to do with say.

I even the person that you're referring to, so maybe you want to have a quick response where someone saying, oh I can't make it to this campus visit. What are the upcoming opportunities? Well, you don't have to even go and look those up because what you could be doing with these is you could have any number of independent sub queries that you're pulling in as available exports, so this could be a merge field. So in this particular example I'm doing one off of form so that it could find all of my events.

So where the type is an event and where I want the date to be sort of ahead of today, I'm sorting by the start date and time of the event, and I want things that are in this folder for advisements sessions that we're going to have and I just want to pull that out into a nice little merge field. I called Advisements session as part of this so now I could type in my nice little SMS or email snippet. Worth noting. You can of course include full emojis here, so you can be super hip.

With all of the responses that are going out and just nice instead of tight and Sidney succinctness of your messages, you can also do any amount of liquid markup that is like conditional logic to or formatting. So if you want to reformat a date in a particular way, all of the other areas where liquid market works in slate think portals deliver mailings. All will continue to work here as well. So now let's go and send an SMS. Again, we're going to do it this time for this advisements session.

So you can go in and drop it right in and so now you're saying not only am I getting something relevant to the person to whom I am sending this, but you're also seeing something that is pulling from this independent subquery which could be calling out. Oh again, dates of upcoming events or something that is tangentially related to the particular person you're emailing, so maybe you want to include what is the date of their upcoming reunion where you want to find all the reunions for a particular class here that is then related to.

The person that we're sending this to and things that can just be preposterous timesavers because they can go and do all of that additional legwork to look those things up. Because you can do these types of things you can actually do even fancier things with this. So let's say that we want to do something over in advancement land, you could go and create, let's say, a configurable poinsettia subquery on here, and in this case it's not an independent one, because it still is related to the person we're going to be sending it to.

And I want to find all of the gifts that they've made for this past fiscal year and be able to pull out those details so you could filter for them. Saying, OK, I want. Well, what are the events that they've registered? I want what are the applications they've submitted? What are their checklists, requirements? What are the gifts that they've made? Again, whatever type of data is going to be relevant to you because it's a sub great, you can do some fancy things with those. And yes, you could choose to do what we call a concatenate.

Where it might have a variety of these different things, and maybe you're throwing line breaks between them and commas, or different types of literal values to create a nicely formatted bit of text. But if you wanted to do this in a table and then you can just send out sort of raw text, you actually really want that data that you can access now in the liquid markup, and so that's where this really cool option for what we call a dictionary output comes in.

It really is something that you're only ever using when you're sort of accessing these data points in liquid markup, but you could put on the different data points that are relevant to you. You can be formatting them in particular ways all the same things apply here, but now what you could do is you can actually loop through those things. So if I call that export gifts, I can then say for whatever variable name that I want, so I'll just call it gift. But I could also call it X or Y or any type of a variable name that you want to have.

But this has to be sort of whatever you had specified as the export name. It then loops through those and then you can access and target. So where it says Gift Dot that's related to where it says. Gift up here and I want the fun name in a table. Then I want the date. Then I want the amount so you can actually even build this in the WYSIWYG editor where you're starting with the table and then you just pull up the source and put in your sort of four and end four sort of loop instructions as part of that.

And it can then iterate through that. We're also doing something a little bit fancier here too, where what you can do is you can do variables. We've got examples of this and feel free to come back to the recording of this, and will all of the examples you'll be seeing here will also be in the Slate showcase database. So if you want to provision a clean slate example, you'll see all of these in there in your own clean slate environments. I as to get provisioned from Slate showcase, but what this can do is this can actually cycle through different types of colors. If you want sort of the zebra striping.

I love your rose. You can do that. You then might have other types of Merge fields that you're seeking to pull in, so maybe it's something where it's doing in aggregate. It's pulling out. What's the total dollar value of the gifts that they've made in this particular fiscal year? And maybe you want it without sense in here, so perhaps you just want it as the integer values. So now I go back over to Alexander Hamilton and I want to sort of say thank you so much for your support. I hear is the.

An you know gift history that you had requested and I could go and click on to it right here and you'll see we're getting all of our row shading. We're getting all of the individual items, so if there had been 10 gifts, or 10 whatever's and returned in that dictionary, output will see the appropriate number of rows along with the other information. And so now what? We're pulling into this is something that is highly, highly dynamic that you can do.

On these sort of quasi one off type bases, you don't have to set up this big deliver mailing to send out this information right now. This would have been a very onerous type process if you needed to go and fetch the data and build the the table on air. And to be clear, that's kind of the normal way things are done out there. Dynamic snippets really changes this in some very, very fascinating ways so that you can have just much more immersive types of content that's going out.

But now that we were looking back at all of the different types of messages that we were sending, and you're thinking, OK, these video messages? Yeah, they look great and everything. It's got the institutional branding, but what if I want to have some sort of a call to action here? That maybe this is a personal message from your admissions counselor asking you to please enroll and pay the enrollment deposit? Well, wouldn't it be kind of dandy?

But if you could have the enrollment deposit form right on this page, or some other types of content, well, I get excited because you can. The way that it works with insight is, let's go over to portals, portals that we all know and love. We can go and pull them up over here and take any type of a portal that you might have created. This could be like a microsite, perhaps that you've created something that is typically has like the person security type.

I where you might be passing and let's say a personalized link over to them. So just make sure you don't have this option to say like disable access via Secure Link. You probably want that to be. I enabled here, but something where maybe you've built out a nice little micro site for things where you've got over request for information form or an update your information form, or I just some personalized sections to it. And what you can do.

With this you can still have all your normal content, so can you really could start with an existing portal that you already have and perhaps you're pulling in Merge fields. You have other conditional content, great, but none of that has to change. But now what you have the option for is to drag in any slate video little witch.

Now the nice thing about this is you just drag it in. There's nothing special you have to do here. You don't have to configure it in any particular way. You're simply saying where you want the video to be displayed in the context of this portal, so you can track it into the nice spot. So maybe you want this to be oh just a big big sort of call out or something. I at the top. Maybe you want it to be formatted in a particular way, and so you say great. So now we've created a little video.

Portal or a video enabled normal portal that you might have with here. So now let's go back to our snippets.

And we could go and create a new snippet and will call this sort of my video portal snippet. Now this could be an email one. It could be an SMS, one that you're taking them into, but what you're going to do is justice. We could say you know, hello, preferred name. Here's a personal video for you to watch an please enroll ideally before tomorrow. I but we can click this export option and then just go and search for the word.

Video you'll see it's on the person base. Also if you search for the word portal, you'll see that we've also made it easier just to get in a link to a personalized portal. So now you don't have to try to like mess with the liquid markup. Another merge fields to get the person grid emergent and you can just go and choose portal length. Or in this case portal link with slight video. One little note, if you were testing this in your test environments on the link that it might return right now will be pointing to your production environment.

I buy later tonight, it will not. It will point to your test environment as part of that for the technical folks. If ever you tried to pull in the HTTPS sort of configuration value into a test environment because it's been cloned from production, it remains the same. Going forward, it won't and will update the existing test environments. So again, if you're playing with this like literally in the next couple of hours, just note that the URL will be pointing to prod, not to your test environment, but we updated it for this one anyway. Just to I get it set.

So I we add this one and this is a configurable configurable export I guess, and so if you have multiple portals just make sure you are pulling this back up so that you can select the right video enabled Portal. We will show all of your portals that exist if they have a video widget somewhere on them in one of the views. So we're going to choose this one and I'll just hit save on it and I could say greetings from Slate University.

And then I'm going to drop and it could be into a much nicer soda template than this, but I'm just going to drop in this sort of portal link option here, so I'm going to click, OK, Great, so now I'm going to come back to our Alexander Hamilton record over Yonder Way and will click on to email and now we'll see. I have my video portal snippet right here. So now what I can do is if I were again clicking something else like this, it drops it right in, right?

But if I click something that has this little video icon, that means that it's going to launch my video camera. So here I am again, so I'm going to go ahead and click record.

Greetings from Slate University. Please deposit immediately. Thank you.

OK alright that looks like something that will get them to deposit. So now let's go ahead and click insert and we could say creating some it drops in all of our different content that we're going to have. I can go and send this off. So yay hurray. And now if I go and pull up my timeline I will see that I've got something that's right over here. But when I click on to it, I now have my personal sort of video portal.

So it has exactly what it's going to be looking like. In fact, I could go and change my portal, so maybe I want to show some additional content on here. It'll all update, but now it knows who I am. I'm logged in and what's actually being passed over is, say, an identifier that points it to the right video to the showing us that as I had platings from Slate University, please deposit immediately. Thank you.

Right and and they can launch it as part of this. So really, really sort of powerful options that I forget again. Anything that a portal could do, such as personalized content or embedding forms on to here, including deposit forms. Or maybe this is a call to action for a capital campaign and you want to make it really easy to have not only this personalized appeal displayed here, but you also want to have the donation form.

On the exact same page, well now you can do that and you can see these pieces right here, but it's not just on the sort of individual person record where you're going to be able to send these sleep videos from. You could also go and Mosey on over to our little Inbox land. So let's start with something maybe like it could be an email. It could be an SMS messages that you have and you could pull up any of these different ones if you.

Hit this sort of snippets tab. Well, you'll see is you now have not only your dynamic snippets that are here where it can fill in the relevant information, so all of those continue to be supported now in Inbox as well. So I ask, you've got folks that are responding to different messages that are coming in. Now those messages can be an have much, much more dynamic and sort of detailed responses, but if we don't choose something like a video snippet.

Then here I am again. I could record my video message and drop it right in even to this type of context here. So some really, really fascinating things that you could be handling as part of this. So then we can do this in places besides just inbox. We could also go over to our deliver land, so let's pull up something like.

I think I've got a recent message that I was creating over here, so let's say that you've got a nice little message that you want to send out to a lot of people. Maybe this is a sort of end of the month type creating, or an application deadline reminder or whatever. It's going to be, but you want it to be a little less personalized. Just because you want to be able to send it out to thousands or 10s of thousands of people as part of that, what you could do is he could go and click this particular.

Option that's on here to say that you want to send a message out to folks, and then what you will see. I as part of this, and I think we perhaps haven't taken this part. Live in the test environment just yet, so I'll pull it up in our production ones. Just because this is one that you will need to. It just gets handled in a slightly different way, but as you pull these up, you'll see that you get a little sleep.

Video icon that will appear and then as we do this here we are again. Can send a particular message out. The notable difference here is that when this message is going out, it's now going to be the same message for everyone as a video. And so you now can drop in video to any of your messages that you're going to be dropping out to folks and goes right out and could also be including all of your branding.

As part of that, now we started this web and R with the sort of song video killed the radio star, and so you may be wondering, does this potentially obviate the need for something like I slate voice? Well know there still is a great need for telephony in the world, and people still may prefer that. Perhaps after all of this time of video interactions on screens that they really may prefer.

I a telephone call, but perhaps as you're calling out to them. Let's say we're calling out from Slate voice. Maybe there are some reasons where they're just they didn't pick up or whatever, and you want to leave them a voicemail? Well, a lot of people. Don't listen to voicemails anymore, so maybe you are sending them a text message instead. Well, now you can go and put in not only snippets when you're at sending SMS through slate voice, but you could also go and drop in.

A sleek video right through here as well and it will go right out to that. The folks in very much an equivalent way. Same sort of deal with video enabled snippets. Those will also I come out through here too. So I ask. We look at all of these different types of things that you can be doing with slate, video and snippets. Just kind of a reminder to folks that this is just the beginning of Slate video. There is a lot more to come.

I just just Once Upon a time there were just snippets. You know until today and now we have dynamic snippets. Be on the lookout for a number of exciting additional enhancements to sleep video as well as snippets for other types of immersive engagement tools. This this form of interaction while folks will certainly return to a lot of in person interactions that the world over again someday. There still will be a need.

I out there for a lot of just hyper personalized and digital interactions and so these are all things that we are very focused on. So as you are thinking about sending out these different types of messages and you're wondering, alright, you know what's it going to cost for me to send these out? Because there are companies that are dedicated to just sending video postcards. Video messages like this that can charge some rather exorbitant fees.

Well, I'm excited to share that there is absolutely no cost to do this at all, so you can send as many video messages as you want. I if it's going out by email, there are no limits. There are no costs if it's going out by SMS there no additional cost, it's just the carrier fees on the SMS is same as you would have right now. No added costs for any of these different types of things, and so you can start sending these out as part of.

Donor cultivations and yield events and all sorts of other really really fun things. As part of that and so now we're going to transition just a little bit.

Over to some questions, and we'll do just a short little bit of questions for this because we have some exciting other announcements to share here as well. So I just looking at some things. Yeah, there's some are IPS to other organizations that maybe you're doing this in the chat, but we just love free. It's so much better than things that cost money, and because it's so integrated.

In this late because everything we do is like that. I it means that there's never a downloading about list and uploading to somewhere else. All of the interaction data is just there. I am that ions to things like portals really allow you to have really, really heavily branded experiences on this. Alright, so I some good questions. Can you add closed captioning? Oh, brilliant idea.

So a couple of things. I'm the first is that Chrome will actually do this automatically for you. I don't know if you've noticed this on recent videos, but now current versions of Chrome will do real time closed captioning on any type of a video that you might be playing will do a check just to see sort of what other browsers are doing, but I'm sure that we could add it in the equivalent way to how we are doing the real time closed captioning inside of share. I so absolutely I think that should be.

Find it if it's also worth noting that as we have a upcoming slate spotlight on inbound calling with slight voice for all of the voice mails that come in, we're doing real time real time transcription of those essentially closed captioning, but makes it a lot easier to do this. Alright, great. So then the question if a staff member doesn't have deliver access, can we send a video from them into a large deliver a message?

Good question. So one of the things that we are going to be doing is it also relates to the can you upload short video or only live recordings? I in this sort of first release we're starting with just the live recordings we will be enabling you very very shortly. I mean like super duper shortly as in like the next week, being able to upload any videos of your choosing. So what this would allow you to do is I will go ahead and click on to something over here and let's just pull me back up and say.

Mic Check 1212 Mic Check 1212 will have a similar type page like this, but you'll be able to go and on these different ones. I thought I had a download option on this. We will make a download option on here. I know we've got one on all of the other ones. Once you link right out to it, but essentially something that would let you be able to go and save this video very very easily.

Do you think there go and download it and then could pass it off somewhere else? We also will have. This is a little bit longer of a timeline out, but some forthcoming editing capabilities if you want to do sort of pre and post roll video footage as well as some other things that we're going to keep. It surprises right now on it. So then questions are video stats recorded on timelines. Yeah so if you have ping enabled it's going to show up right. There will have all of the clicks showing through here.

So you'll see things in very much an equivalent way to other things that you might be linking out to as part of that, then a question can we get snippets folders? Good idea. OK, we can do that like super fast. 'cause the other thing I was noticing this morning as I was getting some of this ready was that we didn't have an active or inactive flag on snippets and that just kind of feels like it's missing. Like, well, you should have that, so we'll put that in as well.

So yes, I will do that. So then the question curious as to where the videos are stored in the massive cyber space of slate? Rob then, let's see, can we customize videos, landing pages or portals? But in all seriousness, Rob. Everything goes through our CDN's as well, so if you're sending videos to folks anywhere in the world, it's going to be served from highly proximate servers to them, so things will be really, really fast where transcoding everything into what's known as the H264 codec with AAC audio.

So it'll work on mobile devices, so if your your portals would be responsive already so they can feel all of these things on smartphones and it should be a very optimized experience, just as it would be with watching a YouTube video question from David, how long does the video live for forever? So there you go then a question from John Michael retention period on video storage.

Any way to run a retention policy on them? Good question. I believe you can target messages right now, so if you're targeting the messages, those will actually clear out the videos too. But yeah, we could absolutely put in some sort of maybe an expiration type thing. I might actually suggest getting that into feedback to have maybe both. A way to target these from a retention policy, but maybe even just on a snippet. And perhaps if they are become like other things that you want to configure it.

With like a time to live, sort of a life cycle, time on like how long the video should be available, because maybe you don't really want it to be available in perpetuity for things. So there you go.

Question from Diana. If you add any video to a snippet that is based in a portal, could you technically add any video to an email? Yeah, so when you're uploading these.

Sort of videos to sleep then yes, you could pass that right through. Otherwise, if it's a video that's being hosted somewhere else, like a YouTube video, then you already could go in in your portal, embed a YouTube video as part of that.

I could the confetti code work for the video portal? Yeah, if you're doing or a cat filter, and if you were doing any of these custom video portals, then yet you could Sky's the limit on those different types of pieces that's there. Who I also like the Blair's idea of a video expiration time period and configuration keys. So the question just sleep video, allow for screen recording, not presently. We hadn't actually thought that someone might want to do that.

But if you actually can submit that to feedback and just kind of give us your use case, you're sort of ideas for what you are. I envisioning there, that would be great, then a question. Are there video length maximums like 30 seconds or a minute? No, you can have it as long as you want. That said, I don't think your recipients are going to be that eager to watch anything more than probably a couple or a few minutes of a video, so I wouldn't do this for your epic length movies, but for something that's just again hyper personalized.

Death that the question can the video be viewed in a country like China? Most likely yes, but that's totally outside of our control. We've never had any issues in the past with content being blocked by the so called Great Firewall and so good for that. So it's not like being hosted in YouTube land or something where there are blocks. I in China and in a number of other countries.

So yes, in theory it really should be able to be viewed for a few different reasons. One is all of the content is served over HTTPS on port 443, so it's all encrypted to the destination that's there, and so it's the traffic is hard to block and inspect on the inside of that, and so unless they're blocking you entirely, this really shouldn't be blocked and we haven't in the history of sight I had any slate instances blocked in.

China, so should be just fine. As part of that. Alright, great so that is open just for the screen recording looks coming up screen recording with picture in picture.
