This Lab will showcase the newest Slate events features to help you plan and execute your next large campus event. From Admitted Students Days to Orientation and beyond, there are always new ways to streamline your process and impress your guests. We will start with some best practice fundamentals including related events, communications, and surveys. Then using Configurable Joins, we will work together to bring your events to the next level by incorporating Slate functionality such as express portals, scheduler, and badge printing.
We'll use hands on activities to work through advanced event concepts, so you can come away with functional examples that you can put into practice right away.
Audience/Prerequisites: Intermediate to Advanced Slate users with Database permission and events permissions. Use of Slate for event management during at least one full year.

Join us for an interactive Configurable Joins experience! This session will focus on how to use Configurable Joins to export or identify your desired data, with an emphasis on efficient use of CJs in tools throughout Slate. Learn to build sample queries that use different methods of joining to best return results, take advantage of different aggregate functions to further transform your data, and more. Powerful examples of using Configurable Joins in forms, events, mailings, and more will be discussed, and attendees will be encouraged to share how they are currently using Configurable Joins. How can we make Configurable Joins even more useful to you? We’ll use discussions from this session to inform how we develop and improve this tool. Audience/Prerequisites: Intermediate to Advanced Slate users with Database permission and most CJs permissions. Users should have a working familiarity with Configurable Joins. The “Administrator (all access)” permission is encouraged, but not required.
